I have been working in bids and projects in defence and commercial sectors for over 20 years and the most important thing that I have learnt is that people and the teams we form are everything. I also love the process of bidding, but the most satisfying thing is seeing a beautifully presented proposal laid out on the board room table ready for delivery! It epitomises the team work, care and beauty of a bid.
I came to APMP relatively late in my bidding career in 2017 and since then I have achieved the practitioner certification, become a Rapport mentor, attended UK and Europe conferences and presented at the UK Conference and webinars. I remember my first conference and the great feeling I had when I realised that I wasn’t the only one doing this crazy job called bidding!
It’s very important to me to build teams and connections around me, so being part of the board to deliver the strategic aims of APMP UK through engaging and focused communications is something I am very proud of. Running my own business I appreciate the value of good marketing and communications, so working hand in hand with all parts of the UK Chapter, I look forward to continuing to promote what APMP UK offers and grow our visibility and reach throughout the bidding community and beyond.
