End of year message from APMP UK Chair

As 2019 comes to an end, I’d like to wish you all a happy and restful Christmas after what I hope has been a busy and rewarding year. It’s certainly been an action-packed year on the APMP UK Board and boy, has it flown by!

Chapter of the Year

We were thrilled to win the Chapter of the Year award at the international APMP Bid & Proposal Con in Orlando and will look forward to entering the various Chapter Awards again next year. The UK has an important role to help with the strategic development of APMP as a whole and with two of our UK Board Members on the International Board next year (Mel Smith and Steven Coles), we hope to be able to make a great impact.

Professional Development

One of my goals for the year was to develop our Professional Development member offering, and I’m really pleased with the progress we have made on that front. Especially, the commencement of the Bid and Proposal Coordinators Apprenticeship and the launch of our RAPPORT Career Development Mentor programme with training starting in February 2020. Watch this space for a call to members wanting to take advantage and use this mentor service in the New Year! We also have other exciting initiatives we have been working on to launch in 2020 to continue our efforts in professional development.

APMP UK Conference

The board were once again blown away by all the positive feedback and fantastic attendance at Conference this year. An incredible amount of time and effort goes into planning it, and it’s testament to the hard work and dedication of a small group of people who give their time freely that we can lay on such a great event.

Save the date for the APMP UK Conference 2020
which will be held 13-14 October 2020.

I’m confident that your new Chair, Gareth Earle, and your new Vice-Chair, Stephen Coles, will build on all these exciting foundations to make 2020 an exciting year for APMP UK and its members.

Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

Mel Smith, Chapter Chair, APMP UK.
