I am a freelance Bid Consultant and Writer through my own company, Pipster Solutions. I made the leap into freelancing after 11 years as an employed bid writer in highways and civil engineering, setting up Pipster Solutions to provide a simple, effective bid writing service. It has become much more than that; a successful, sustainable business with almost 40 clients winning the work they need to keep their own businesses running.
My services have evolved over the last 8 years, still providing quality writing and reviewing, but also bid management and coaching. Although highways is my first love, I have written and managed successful bids for the Facilities Management, Energy, Custody and Construction sectors.
I joined the APMP in 2016 after attending my first conference, and have subsequently achieved Foundation, Practitioner and Professional certifications. I have also supported many to achieve their Practitioner and Professional certifications. I presented at the last four APMP conferences and have been involved in WIBAP, writing for Bidding Quarterly and even featured in a Red Review Podcast! The APMP has given me much more than professional status and recognition amongst the industry - it has given me a bidding network, a family, that understands what I do, supporting me in my decisions and activities and providing a sounding board for when things get tough.
I applied to be a Mentor because I want to give something back to our members, to help mentees make the career and development choices that provide them with progression and satisfaction in bidding. I see mentoring as a chance for mentees to extend their own network and bidding family, supporting them to be their own personal best.
Other things you might not know about me are that I trained to be a drama teacher, I am a Mum of an almost teenager and I love Obstacle Course Racing and MUD!
